The Grillhouse: Our favorite place to eat here. The steak is stupid good and cut to order, the wine and booze on offer are top notch, and the whole place oozes that New York steakhouse vibe, as evidenced by their jazz club bar next door. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off the keyboard...
Rosebank: Our commerce center of preference, a short five minute drive or fifteen minute walk away from our place in Parktown North. Highlights include Clicks (a drug store chain), Exclusive Books, and Cape Union Mart for safari gear. Of note on the food front are Doppio Zero and Nino's, both bistro joints, and Cranks, which serves awesome Thai and Vietnamese fare. As opposed to Sandton Mall, Rosebank incorporates several buildings and outdoor space, so I don't suffer the same closterphobia induced panic attacks as when we go up north to the "premium" mall.
